The work scope, is for about 86 days, and comes with further options, covers the drilling and potential testing of the Winchelsea II well and is expected to start in late June.

The Maersk Resolve is currently preparing for the upcoming operation, following a period of warm-stacking in Esbjerg Harbour, Denmark.

“Maersk Resolve will be the fourth rig that Maersk Drilling brings back into operation following a period of warm-stacking, and it is gratifying to see that we are able to safely and efficiently execute the start-up phases, in close dialogue with our customers. Going forward, Maersk Drilling will pursue a much closer collaboration with our customers to remove inefficiencies and create joint value, offering agile services in times of change,” says Michael Reimer Mortensen, VP and head of global sales in Maersk Drilling.

“As an organization, we are dedicated to working with our customers to bring down the overall well costs, as that is the only way we can increase activity in the present market environment. We are pleased to see that Wintershall Noordzee is forthcoming and aligned with this approach,” says Mortensen.
