Jose Antonio Meade Kuribreña has been appointed Mexico's energy minister and chairman of the state oil company Pemex. Previously Mexico's deputy finance minister, Meade replaces Georgina Kessel, who had served as energy minister under President Felipe Calderón since 2006.


Andy Inglis the former chief executive of BP's Exploration & Production business, has joined Petrofac as chief executive of its Energy Developments and Production Solutions business units. Following a familiarisation period, Inglis, who served on the BP plc board 2007-10, will join the board of Petrofac next month and relocate to London on a permanent basis in April.


Thomas Thune Andersen the former Maersk Oil CEO, has succeeded the retiring David Moorhouse as chairman of the Lloyd's Register Group. Moorhouse has joined the board of Russian tanker company Sovcomflot as one of its three independent directors.


Todd Grove has been appointed CTO at ABS. He will report to president and COO Christopher Wiernicki and be based in the society's Houston headquarters.


John Hoopingarner  is the new director for the Petroleum Extension Service, a component of Continuing and Innovative Education at The University of Texas at Austin. Before coming to Petex, Hoopingarner served as EVP at Emergent Technologies for ten years.


Bruce Clement takes over as MD of AWE in Sydney, Australia, this month, replacing Bruce Wood. Clement had held the same post with Roc Oil since 2008.


Bruce McKay retired as both chairman and director of AWE late last year with Bruce Phillips assuming the chairmanship.


Mustang has appointed Gordon Stirling as regional director for Europe, North Africa, the Middle East, India and Russia, and Chet Nelson, regional director for Asia-Pacific. Both are tasked with overseeing business operations in support of Mustang's global expansion. Stirling, who currently has management responsibility for Mustang's upstream operations hub in London, will report to EVP John W Dalton Sr. Nelson, who has served for three years in Perth as Australian operations manager, relocates to Mustang's Asia-Pacific operations base in Kuala Lumpur and will report to EVP AJ Cortez.


Roberto Penno has been appointed CEO of Foster Wheeler's global engineering and construction group's Asia Pacific operating unit. He previously served as managing director, global sales and marketing. Chris Brown, previously SVP operations at Foster Wheeler USA, takes over from Penno as MD global sales and marketing in Reading, UK, with Filippo Abba stepping up MD operations.


Ross Landry has been named subsea operations manager at InterMoor. He steps up from technical manager and assistant operations manager at the company's subsea facility. InterMoor also recently named Sarah Kawas, a former account manager with Wellstream Internationa, as BDM for Latin America.


Mike Forbes has been appointed MD of Aker Solutions' MMO business in the UK, Aker Offshore Partner Ltd, in succession to Rod Buchan (see below). Forbes, a structural engineer, originally joined Aker in 1990 and apart from four years with Texaco has served the group for 17 years in a number of roles, most recently as VP modifications.


Rod Buchan has joined lifting, tooling and marine services provider Cosalt Offshore as its new CEO. Cosalt Offshore also recently announced the appointment of Runar Blakstad as the new head of its Norwegian division.


Dennis Horstmann has joined oilfield production chemicals provider Multi-Chem as manager of global business development. He previously worked for BJ Services and Baker Petrolite. Tony Spratt has also joined Multi- Chem from Foster Wheeler as manager of capex and flow assurance technology. Spratt earlier worked for Chevron where he led flow assurance for the deepwater integration of the Jack and St Malo developments.


The Reverend Martin Grashoff takes up his new appointment as chaplain to the UK offshore oil & gas industry on 1 March. Ordained as a minister in the Netherlands in 1995, he follows the late Rev Andrew J Jolly MBE, who died last September, and becomes the fourth chaplain since the role was officially established following the 1988 Piper Alpha disaster.


Simon Kendall became manager of Reservoir Group's newly augmented data business, RG Data, on 31 January. He previously served as director of strategic initiatives with Fugro's information services and geoscience division, and prior to that was a senior manager with Robertson Research.


Andrew Goldberg and Anica Haynes have joined the Baton Rouge, Louisiana, office of Geosyntec Consultants as associate and senior engineer, respectively.


Kenneth Hvid) becomes EVP and chief strategy officer for Teekay effective 1 April. Previously president of the corporation's shuttle tanker and FSO business unit, Hvid succeeds Peter Evensen, who takes over from the retiring Bjorn Moller as Teekay president and CEO in April. Former VP Ingvild Sæther becomes president of Teekay Navion Shuttle Tankers & Offshore.


Troy Hayden has taken over as CEO and MD of Tap Oil in Perth, Western Australia, following the resignation of Peter Strickland. Hayden was with Woodside Petroleum for 12 years.

Paul Colston, Aquaterra Energy's representative in Indonesia for the past year, has had his role broadened to service the Far East as the company seeks to capitalise on recent contract gains in Vietnam and Malaysia.


Steven Bernard has been appointed VP of riser delivery for MCS Kenny. He joins the company from Pegasus International.

Andrew Way has been named VP services at GE Oil & Gas. He was promoted to global supply chain & manufacturing leader in December 2008, having joined GE Oil & Gas a year earlier.


Don Parks has been named as engineering manager of Knight Well Services. Based out of Knight's Houston location, he will oversee the company's plug and abandonment procedures and be actively involved in submitting bid proposals.

Scott Cormack has been appointed business development director at plant, lifting and tool rental group ATR. Findlay Moir becomes divisional manager for the lifting and inspection division.


Flavio Olivarez will head up the newly established Houston office of UK-headquartered Nylacast, an engineered polymer solutions provider to the offshore oil & gas industry. He has been a registered Professional Engineer in the state of Texas for more than 25 years.

Angus Lugsdin has joined the Tritech International sales team as US business development manager. He will be working in partnership with the company's Houstonbased distributor, Subsea Technologies.


Cameron Astill has been appointed VP marketing, Asia Pacific, by marine geophysical company Polarcus, based at its recently opened regional office in Singapore. He was with CGGVeritas for ten years, latterly as EVP Asia Pacific.


John Simpson and Martyn MacDonnell have been appointed business development director and BDM, respectively, at Paradigm Flow Solutions. Both join from RBG, Simpson having served as its country manager in Trinidad and MacDonnell in a business development role.


Barry Killoh has joined remote open close technology specialists Red Spider as Europe and Africa sales manager, based in Aberdeen. He was previously with Baker Hughes, Schlumberger and Expro.


David Weinstein has been appointed VP strategic development for ABS. Based in Houston, he will be responsible for strategic planning, acquisitions and major internal strategic initiatives.


Chris Calder has been appointed operations manager at Aberdeen oilfield services company Coretrax Technology. He joins from Halliburton Energy Services.


Bob Taggart has been appointed MD and Mark Taggart plant equipment and operations manager at Aberdeen-based BME UK. The engineering equipment manufacturer's management reshuffle follows its recent launch of a new business unit, Specialist Cleaning Services, to provide decommissioning and cleaning services on and offshore.


Fauziah Tranchard has been appointed Asia Pacific regional business development manager for Swire Oilfield Services in Singapore.


John McKay has joined bolt tightening equipment supplier Tentec in the newly created post of business manager. He was previously with Hydratight.


Ingelise Arntsen previously with REC and Statkfraft, has joined Norway's Sway Turbine as CEO, replacing founder Eystein Borgen who will stay on as the Sway spinoff's CTO. Sway Turbine is working on a prototype 10MW offshore wind turbine for floating and fixed platforms.


Jeremy Cresswell founder of the Aberdeen Renewable Energy Group, collected the 2010 Scottish Renewables award for outstanding contribution to the industry at the Scottish Green Energy Awards.


Dr Pete Naylor, principal decision risk management consultant with RPS Energy, received a SPE regional service award for 2010.


Sander van den Bos has been appointed country manager at Smith Flow Control in Holland and will manage the company's Dutch satellite office, SFC Netherlands. He replaces Martin van den Heuval, who was with SFC for 35 years.


Alistair Duffield has joined international law firm Berwin Leighton Paisner as a managing partner in their Singapore office.


Håvard Sæverud has joined Ace Winches as country manager for Norway. Previously with Scan Tech, he will operate from the Ace Winches Norge base in Stavanger.


Leigh Howarth has been appointed to the board of the Aberdeen-based Sparrows Group as CFO. He joins from North Sea independent EnQuest. OE
