Stena IceMAX heads for Druid, Drombeg spud, offshore Ireland

Providence Resources and its partners have signed a contract for the Stena IceMAX deepwater drillship for drilling on the Druid and Drombeg prospects in the southern Porcupine Basin, offshore Ireland. 

Druid and Drombeg are in Frontier Exploration Licence (FEL) 2/14, operated by Providence (56%) with partners Cairn Energy, and Sosina Exploration. 

The Stena IceMAX has mobilized from its base in Las Palmas, Gran Canaria, and is due to arrive at the 53/6-A (Druid & Drombeg) well location on 3 July.
