French vessel and subsea contractor Bourbon has won its first pipelay contract awarded by Total Gabon for the engineering, procurement, construction and installation (EPCI) of 25km of 6in rigid pipeline as part of the Hylia water injection project using Zap-Lok technology.

Bourbon is subcontracting some of the work to suppliers, mainly Cortez Subsea, for pipelay equipment, and Wood Group, for the pipeline design and pipelay engineering.

Operations are due to start in Q2 2017, offshore Gabon, with an multi-purpose platform supply vessel (PSV) from the Bourbon Evolution 800 series.

Remotely operated vehicle services and a PSV, all provided by Bourbon, will also support survey and air diving operations for spool and riser installation.

The Hylia field is a satellite development of the Torpille field in the Baudroie Area Development.
