In this video, Royal Boskalis Westminister show the topside installation for the Vietsovpetro Thien Ung project, offshore Vietnam.

Boskalis installed the Thien Ung BK-TNG 4200m topside and 850m living quarter by offshore heavy lifting with the sheerleg Asian Hercules III heavy lift vessel.

The topside and living quarters were installed on a (preinstalled) jacket in the Nam Con Son Basin, at a water depth of 120m. The topside lift, which is the heaviest offshore lift by a sheerleg was successfully completed on 21 September 2016 and the living quarters on 24 September 2016, Boskalis said.

The Thien Ung gas field is in Block 04-3 in Nam Con Son basin. The project aims at exploiting natural gas deposits at Thien Ung. In addition, the project will implement a system to remove CO2 gas from the natural gas stream while compressing gases from the Dai Hung 2 wellhead platform at Block 05-1A.
