TGS is reprocessing some 22,847km of 2D seismic offshore Portugal thanks to success in the conjugate offshore Newfoundland and Nova Scotia.

This project, which uses TGS' broadband solution Clari-Fi, is now fully underway, said the firm.

Stein Ove Isaksen, Senior VP Eastern Hemisphere, said: "Recent successes in the conjugate offshore Newfoundland and Nova Scotia provinces of Canada have heightened expectations for similar petroleum systems offshore Portugal.  TGS' reprocessing program is expected to provide critical geoscience information to exploration and production companies as they move to the next phase of exploration along this portion of the Atlantic Margin."

This project is supported by industry funding.
