Norway-based semisubmersible accomodation vessel provider Prosafe has signed its first job for the newbuild accommodation vessel Safe Notos under a new contract in the UK sector of the North Sea.

The contract, which covers eight months, will see use of the Safe Zephyrus for an initial short period, starting Q2 2016, before it is replaced with the newbuild Safe Notos on arrival into the North Sea.

In addition, Prosafe has granted four one-month options. The total value of the contract for the firm period is about US$60 million.

The contract follows Prosafe's first contract with Petrobras, announced last week. Under its first contract, the Safe Eurus semisubmersible vessel will work on safety and maintenance support offshore Brazil starting Q1 2017, for three years.
