Alphastrut has expanded its operations by opening an office in Busan, South Korea.

The Scotland-headquartered company has already enjoyed success in having its weight-saving aluminum support system specified for use on major North Sea platform developments for BP, Nexen and Det norske.

It has now launched Alphastrut Korea to help further build its standing in the international market and to give it a local presence in a country which is home to some of the world’s largest offshore construction companies.

Heeju Kim has been appointed as general manager for Alphastrut Korea. He has spent the last five years as managing director of marine accommodation systems supplier TNF Inexa Korea, having previously had a ten-year spell as team manager for electrical systems specialist General Marine Business Inc.
