Schneider Electric and Electronic Power Design (EPD) are creating a partnership to produce Schneider Electric IEC equipment in the United States.
Through this partnership, Schneider Electric will manufacture Okkenglobal products in the US for the first time.
Together, Schneider Electric and EPD will have the ability to produce and provide IEC equipment built in the US for export to offshore markets such as marine, oil and gas, and mining industries. Okken products are perfectly suited for these industries as they are designed to withstand extreme conditions and harsh environments, including extreme cold, salt water and underground conditions.
Okken IEC equipment brings power distribution up to 7300 A, motor control up to 250kW, and provides safety and reliability combined with a compact footprint. The compact design is designed for confined spaces such as small boats or in tight mining shafts overseas and offshore.
“We are thrilled to partner with EPD as it will enable us to produce IEC equipment in the US in order to provide overseas markets with the versatility, capability, and durability they need to keep their businesses competitive,” says Aamir Paul, senior vice president of retail and partner projects, Schneider Electric. “We can now build and design these solutions within the US and bring local expertise in the IEC equipment arena to our customers.”
“We are excited to be a Schneider Electric solutions partner,” says John Janik, chairman of Electronic Power Design. “Through this partnership we will continue to develop IEC equipment in the US and provide customers with solutions which ensure outstanding safety, increased cost-effectiveness, and total flexibility.”
