Sinergeo to represent Polarcus in Brazil

In order to expand its Brazilian business, Polarcus has teamed up with Sinergeo for the management of Polarcus do Brazil in Rio de Janeiro.

With the addition of Marcelo Fonseca and Marcos Gallotti to the company’s management team, Polarcus entered into a new representation agreement on 1 September.

"We are very pleased to welcome Marcelo and Marcos to our team,” says Richard Price, vice president of marketing for the North & South American region. “And to have the strength of Sinergeo's experience and services to support our business as we expand Polarcus' presence in Brazil in readiness for our first seismic operations."

Fonseca, a senior level executive, previously served as chief financial officer for multinational companies in Brazil and overseas prior to establishing Sinergeo to provide commercial and legal representation services for the oil and gas industry in Brazil. Gallotti is a PhD geophysicist with over 25 years of experience in the oil and gas industry, 22 of which were spent working for Petrobras.

Petrobras, the biggest oil company in Brazil, has almost stopped awarding contracts for new ships and the delivery of ships under existing contracts because of a lack of financing and equity, and lack of progress at the shipyards.
