Paradigm announced the release of the latest version of its Geolog formation evaluation and petrophysics analysis solution suite.

The release includes a plug-in that enables direct data transfer from Geolog to Petrel seismic to simulation software, as well as new pore pressure prediction and shale analysis modules.

It also provides log analysts and petrophysicists the freedom to easily work across their respective product suites.

The release includes a new module for log-based pore pressure and fracture pressure prediction that optimizes drilling safety and helps optimize the economics of the drilling program.

Advanced shale gas analysis and geomechanics workflow technologies developed by Saudi Aramco, enhance the release content for petrotechnical professionals working in the unconventionals.  Together with Geolog’s geosteering and multi-mineral analysis capability, these new technologies will expand Geolog’s ability to successfully meet the unique challenges faced in shale plays.

Petrel, a Schlumberger-owned software application, supports automated, repeatable workflows, to capture best practices and share them across the organization. New data is easily incorporated, keeping the subsurface live and current.
