Hess Corp. announced on 5 June that it has been ranked No. 1 among the greenest US energy producers according to the just-released “2014 Newsweek (magazine) Green Rankings” of the largest 500 companies in the world.
The rankings, now in their sixth year, evaluate the 500 largest publicly-traded companies as of December 31, 2013, by market capitalization in the United States (the US 500) and the 500 largest publicly-traded companies globally (the Global 500) on corporate sustainability and environmental impact.

The rankings are the result of a “rigorous, peer-reviewed research process, including both quantitative and qualitative data from some of the world’s leading environmental research organizations,” Newsweek stated.
Hess’ rank among the world’s greenest companies in all measured sectors (from Capital Goods to Vehicles and Components) is No. 108.
