East of England based Proeon Systems has won two orders worth a combined £650,000 from a leading subsea contractor as part of the development of a new well intervention vessel.

The award will see Proeon develop a subsea intervention control system, supervisory and control systems for the vessel, and associated test equipment.

Proeon designs, installs and commissions high quality control and safety systems for the energy sector, and this year celebrates its tenth anniversary supplying its solutions globally.

Kevin Magee, Proeon's managing director, said: “The engineering team have been collaborating for some time on smaller projects through third parties with this company, and contract awards like these demonstrate that our quality and expertise has great potential. We are committed to supplying the best solutions possible”

The two projects will have large elements of both hardware and software development, which includes testing and manufacturing, which will be carried out at Proeon’s in house facilities at Hethel, Norfolk, before installation and commissioning begins.

The projects mark a change in project scale for this type of application area for Proeon. Dr Dorian Hindmarsh, Proeon’s business development manager, said: “We see that specialist controls within the subsea and topsides arena is a growing market place for us and is already set to be a core contributor to our business bringing it in line with our current offering of Gas Turbine control and Fire & Gas safety systems.”
