SOSINA Exploration Ltd. announced a new 3D seismic program, which is planned to be acquired by Polarcus in the southern Porcupine basin, offshore southwest Ireland.

The non-exclusive multi-client survey, is projected to commence this summer, and will cover the deepwater Drombeg exploration prospect that sits in the Drombeg license. The total planned seismic acquisition program will cover a minimal area of 3200sq km, which will include 1065sq km over the Drombeg license. Operator, Providence Resources, and SOSINA have agreed to license a total of 2250sq of data, which will include the area over the Drombeg License and adjacent open acreage for a fixed sum. This 3D seismic program will fulfill the seismic data acquisition work program obligations for the first phase of FEL 2/14.

Providence and SOSINA expect that these new high resolution 3D data over the Drombeg prospect will confirm the potential, which has been identified within the lower cretaceous section and will allow for the commencement of well planning on Drombeg. These data will also allow Providence and SOSINA to evaluate the potential in the stacked jurassic and paleocene levels where additional exploration prospects have been identified.

The Drombeg License is situated in 2000m water depth, 220km off the west coast of Ireland, and is operated by Providence Resources (80%), with partner SOSINA (20%).
