Baker Hughes: offshore rig count 3 Jan

Baker Hughes Inc. rotary rig count shows 61 rigs active offshore US for the last two weeks, up 10 rigs from a year ago (19.6% year-over-year increase). This includes 55 rigs working off Louisiana (up from 47 a year ago), 2 rigs off Texas (up from 1 rig), 2 rigs off Florida (up from 1 rig), 2 rigs off California (up from 1 rig). There were no rigs working offshore Alaska (1 rig was working a year ago).

Offshore Canada, only one rig was listed as active for the last two weeks, same as a year ago, in Newfoundland & Labrador.

Seadrill's West Aquarius and Transocean's Henry Goodrich semisubmersibles are currently in Newfoundland.
