GSP Offshore has said its jackup, the GSP Saturn, will provide offshore drilling services in Pechora Sea, in the south eastern part of the Barents Sea, on the Russian continental shelf.
GSP Saturn will carry out operations under a two year contract, 2014–2015, with an extension option for one year. The MODU’s mobilization is scheduled for May 2014.
GSP Saturn will enter service in Dolginskoye oil field, where it will perform drilling, logging, completion and testing of North-Dolginskaya № 3 well.
The contract follows an initial contract between GSP and Gazpromneft-Sakhalin, involving GSP Jupiter, but operations in 2013 were postponed, extended, and now reassigned to GSP Saturn.

GSP Saturn is one of the most technologically advanced GSP’s MODUs, the rig being part of the total of US$1.35 billion investment plan our company carried out since 2004” said Gabriel Comanescu, President and CEO of Grup Servicii Petroliere.
