Leading Rope Access Specialists, AquaTerra Solutions Ltd, has been awarded a multimillion pound three year contract for its specialist access services in Leg Intervention Work.

The contract work scope, which includes an array of construction and upgrade work, was awarded by Fairfield for work on the Dunlin Platform.

Working with Amec, Fairfield’s Duty Holder on the Dunlin Platform, AquaTerra will be working primarily within the potentially hazardous environment of the concrete legs using full BA and escape systems.

Having previously completed an array of construction, inspection and electrical services by multi-disciplined rope access teams within the legs AquaTerra was selected to manage future works within the legs.

AquaTerra Solutions Ltd has seen significant growth over the last couple of years and Managing Director, Peter Robinson, believes that this stems from the company’s ability to provide customers with specialist capabilities and extensive experience within concrete base structures.

Commenting on the contract win, Mr Robinson said: ‘We’re delighted to have secured this contract as it underpins our growing relationship with Fairfield and with Amec.  We’re very pleased and we think it’s a reflection of our strong understanding of our customers and their requirements.

AquaTerra’s experience and proven track record on concrete leg projects has allowed us to offer the industry a solution to what will soon be an increasing work scope across a variety of other ageing offshore infrastructures.

Given the associated risks, our onshore and offshore management teams are highly experienced and assembled to provide our clients with the confidence and competence that is continuously sought after in this industry.’

Robinson could not confirm whether it would mean additional jobs but said the company will continue to grow.  AquaTerra currently employs over 25 staff in the Aberdeenshire office with over 100 offshore Rope Access field personnel.

In addition to providing global Rope Access support and services, AquaTerra’s portfolio also includes an international training division with modern, purpose-built facilities in Aberdeen including Rigging Loft and Working at Height frame.  The company also specialises in work and rescue equipment supply.
