FMC Technologies is the recipient of two ‘Spotlight on New Technology’ at the OTC 2012 show in Houston. The awards, which acknowledge innovative technologies that significantly impact offshore exploration and production, are for the Pazflor subsea separators for Total offshore Angola and the Marlim subsea oil-water separation system designed for Petrobras’ mature Marlim field offshore Brazil (see Deepwater Roundup).

Baker Hughes and Schlumberger also have two technologies cited this year: Baker for the TeleCoil downhole communication system and the MaxCOR large-diameter rotary sidewall coring service, and Schlumberger for its Signature quartz gauges and the PowerDrive Archer high build rate RSS.

Other technologies singled out for special attention at OTC are: the ClampOn subsea corrosion-erosion monitor (see feature, page 99); the Dockwise Vanguard; Halliburton’s EquiFlow autonomous inflow control device (AICD); the Reelwell downhole isolation system (RDIS); the ShawCor simulated service vessel (SSV); Tesco’s directional liner drilling system and Versabar’s Claw (OE January).
