The global engineering company based in Oslo Aker Solutions announced that it will provide engineering services for BP’s Clair South project in the UK North Sea.
The pre-FEED (Front End Engineering and Design) contract, which was awarded in September, will see Aker Solutions’ teams based in London deliver engineering services to BP over an 11-month period.
Efforts will be focused on developing and identifying value-enhancing opportunities, ultimately enabling the project to progress into FEED phase, the provider of the products, systems and services required to unlock energy from sources such as oil, gas and offshore wind said.
“We are delighted to build on our strong relationship with BP and work on this exciting opportunity,” said Sian Lloyd Rees, country manager for Aker Solutions in the UK. “Aker Solutions has an excellent track record in working collaboratively with its customers to maximize value in projects of this kind. We are confident that, together with our customer, we will identify and realize an optimal solution for the Clair South project.”
Aker Solutions’ team in London has previously delivered a broad variety of concept and detailed engineering projects, including the successful delivery of the topside Engineering, Procurement and Construction Management support for the Riser Platform on Equinor’s Johan Sverdrup project, offshore Norway.
The Clair field sits 75 kilometers west of Shetland. Clair South is the third development phase on the field.
Both parties have agreed not to disclose the value of the contract.
