Atlas Professionals has extended permanent recruitment and executive search services for the offshore wind industry to the Asia Pacific region.

"With the offshore renewables industry surging ahead as countries aim to achieve their climate targets, clients all over the world – and definitively in the Asia Pacific region  – are increasingly looking to recruit professionals for permanent roles," pointed out offshore specialist recruiter.

The offshore wind sector in the Asia-Pacific (APAC) region is growing at a remarkable rate. The APAC offshore wind capacity will rise mainly in China, Taiwan, South Korea and Japan the coming years. New markets such as India, Thailand, Australia and Vietnam will start within five years.

This growth poses a serious manpower challenge for companies involved in this region, simply because it is growing so quickly. Next to this, the Asia-Pacific needs to rely on the European-based experts because the APAC does not yet have their own home-grown offshore wind sector.

”With the offshore wind industry in Asia-Pacific to rise 20-fold to 45GW in 2027, the provision of skilled and qualified personnel will become one of the key success factors for the industry to achieve this growth. As the European offshore wind sector is still continuing to grow, we need to develop our own executive expertise in Asia-Pacific and therefore recruiting and training senior-level people here”, says Edgare Kerkwijk. He  joined Atlas Professionals as Strategic Director Renewables APAC in Singapore and will lead this initiative for the region.

Atlas is currently supporting  their clients  from their Bristol (UK) and Hoofddorp (Netherlands) offices  with permanent recruitment. Atlas’ vast, worldwide network and track record in providing professionals for nearly all of the wind farms in the UK, Netherlands, Germany and Denmark since 2008, makes it a logical choice to extend their services to the offshore wind hub in Singapore.

“We are proud of the very good relationships we have with our clients. As recruitment is very time consuming and clients don’t always have access to the right professionals, Atlas is happy to give that extra service in helping finding the right people for the job taking in consideration the values of the client”, says Andrew Blears, Director APAC based in Singapore.
