Kongsberg Maritime has been awarded a call-off order for delivery of the safety and automation system (SAS), life cycle simulator and SAS information management system for the four platforms on Statoil’s Johan Sverdrup development field center, offshore Norway.

The firm’s parent company was also selected to deliver a complete electro, instrument and telecom (EIT), propulsion, safety, automation and dynamic positioning package for two new Gusto NG-2500X DP II design, offshore construction jackups. The units are owned by Vahana Offshore in Singapore.

The contracts were awarded by builder Eversendai Offshore RMC FZE (Shipyard) in RAK Maritime City, Ras Al Khaimah, UAE. The Kongsberg scope includes extensive engineering and integration services.

For the Johan Sverdrup project, the order is based on the project specific agreement for the Johan Sverdrup SAS, awarded to Kongsberg Maritime in May 2014, and contains extensive hardware, software and system engineering competence delivery.

Kongsberg Maritime will, as part of the project specific agreement, also participate with integrated engineering services to various contractors for Johan Sverdrup, and will support installation and commissioning of the delivered systems.
