Jose Antonio Meade Kuribreña has been appointed Mexico's energy minister and chairman of the state oil company Pemex. Previously Mexico's deputy finance minister, Meade replaces Georgina Kessel, who had served as energy minister under President Felipe Calderón since 2006.
Andy Inglis the former chief executive of BP's Exploration & Production business, has joined Petrofac as chief executive of its Energy Developments and Production Solutions business units. Following a familiarisation period, Inglis, who served on the BP plc board 2007-10, will join the board of Petrofac next month and relocate to London on a permanent basis in April.
Thomas Thune Andersen the former Maersk Oil CEO, has succeeded the retiring David Moorhouse as chairman of the Lloyd's Register Group. Moorhouse has joined the board of Russian tanker company Sovcomflot as one of its three independent directors.
Todd Grove has been appointed CTO at ABS. He will report to president and COO Christopher Wiernicki and be based in the society's Houston headquarters.
John Hoopingarner is the new director for the Petroleum Extension Service, a component of Continuing and Innovative Education at The University of Texas at Austin. Before coming to Petex, Hoopingarner served as EVP at Emergent Technologies for ten years.
Bruce Clement takes over as MD of AWE in Sydney, Australia, this month, replacing Bruce Wood. Clement had held the same post with Roc Oil since 2008.
Bruce McKay retired as both chairman and director of AWE late last year with Bruce Phillips assuming the chairmanship.
Mustang has appointed Gordon Stirling as regional director for Europe, North Africa, the Middle East, India and Russia, and Chet Nelson, regional director for Asia-Pacific. Both are tasked with overseeing business operations in support of Mustang's global expansion. Stirling, who currently has management responsibility for Mustang's upstream operations hub in London, will report to EVP John W Dalton Sr. Nelson, who has served for three years in Perth as Australian operations manager, relocates to Mustang's Asia-Pacific operations base in Kuala Lumpur and will report to EVP AJ Cortez.
Roberto Penno has been appointed CEO of Foster Wheeler's global engineering and construction group's Asia Pacific operating unit. He previously served as managing director, global sales and marketing. Chris Brown, previously SVP operations at Foster Wheeler USA, takes over from Penno as MD global sales and marketing in Reading, UK, with Filippo Abba stepping up MD operations.
Ross Landry has been named subsea operations manager at InterMoor. He steps up from technical manager and assistant operations manager at the company's subsea facility. InterMoor also recently named Sarah Kawas, a former account manager with Wellstream Internationa, as BDM for Latin America.
Mike Forbes has been appointed MD of Aker Solutions' MMO business in the UK, Aker Offshore Partner Ltd, in succession to Rod Buchan (see below). Forbes, a structural engineer, originally joined Aker in 1990 and apart from four years with Texaco has served the group for 17 years in a number of roles, most recently as VP modifications.
Rod Buchan has joined lifting, tooling and marine services provider Cosalt Offshore as its new CEO. Cosalt Offshore also recently announced the appointment of Runar Blakstad as the new head of its Norwegian division.
Dennis Horstmann has joined oilfield production chemicals provider Multi-Chem as manager of global business development. He previously worked for BJ Services and Baker Petrolite. Tony Spratt has also joined Multi- Chem from Foster Wheeler as manager of capex and flow assurance technology. Spratt earlier worked for Chevron where he led flow assurance for the deepwater integration of the Jack and St Malo developments.
The Reverend Martin Grashoff takes up his new appointment as chaplain to the UK offshore oil & gas industry on 1 March. Ordained as a minister in the Netherlands in 1995, he follows the late Rev Andrew J Jolly MBE, who died last September, and becomes the fourth chaplain since the role was officially established following the 1988 Piper Alpha disaster.
