LQT wins TLP accommodation work

LQT Industries has been awarded the engineering and construction of a three story aluminum accommodations facility by a major oil and gas production company for a deepwater tension leg platform (TLP) in the Gulf of Mexico. The aluminum accommodations are USCG/ABS Classed A60 fire rated and will house 62 people.

The project is expected to be complete in the first quarter of 2018, the Abbeville, La.-based provider of aluminum building construction, including USCG/ABS certified, A60 fire rated accommodations, reported today (25 October).

 “We are excited to work with one of the most respected companies in the industry. LQT’s aluminum expertise, strong project team, and record of on-time project delivery has made us a valuable partner in the energy sector,” said John Alford, president of LQT Industries, in a press release.

So far this year, the company has completed two offshore single lift projects, numerous blast rated module projects, two large industrial insulation projects, and other successful projects, including providing approximately 100 buildings and equipment for hurricane disaster response in Texas, Puerto Rico, and the Virgin Islands, Alford stated.
