Expro expands well abandonment team

Oilfield services provider Expro has strengthened its well abandonment services with the appointment of senior project manager, Bill Inglis.

Expro launched four new business capabilities last year, including fully integrated well abandonment services encompassing; late-life reservoir management, permanent reservoir abandonment and post abandonment monitoring.

Inglis brings more than 25 years’ experience in the oil and gas industry, including drilling and completions superintendent for Hess Denmark, as well as single point accountability (SPA) wells decommissioning, for BP.  This included a range of onshore and offshore decommissioning activity across the Schiehallion Claw, Don and Magnus fields.

In his new position for Expro, Bill is responsible for the planning, management and execution of integrated well abandonment services, ensuring a single point of contact for the client.

Inglis said: “The role of decommissioning is a complex one, which brings with it a number of challenges. Each project is different and requires a careful approach to safely and efficiently completing these campaigns.

“We continue to focus on adding value to our clients by working with the latest technology to create efficient practices, ensuring they deliver these projects on time and on cost.”

Kevin Illingworth, Global Well Abandonment Manager for Expro, commented: “We are thrilled to welcome Bill to our team at Expro. His breadth of experience, including both drilling and well abandonment, is invaluable when delivering comprehensive well abandonment campaigns.

“We look forward to working with Bill as we continue to grow our portfolio of global projects in the year ahead.”

Inglis holds a BSc degree in Engineering from Glasgow Caledonian University as well as an advanced diploma in Drilling Operations.
