Companies form decom consortium

Four companies have joined forces to offer a decommissioning service under one collaborative offering.

Integrated DECOM, formed by DNV GL, Costain, Axis Well Technology and BMT Cordah, will offer front-end engineering and environmental solutions providing integrated support for oil and gas operators looking to retire redundant facilities without the burden of an in-house overhead.

The firms say they have the capacity to deliver the entire decommissioning work scope up to the approval of the project’s decommissioning program, from subsurface to structure, through a single point solution.

Frazer Mackay, of Costain, which is leading the consortium, says: “The companies within Integrated DECOM bring complementary, critical technical skills which are required to plan and deliver compliant and cost effective decommissioning. This unique combined knowledge ensures that every solution will be considered in a comparative assessment process, delivering a lower risk and cost decommissioning outcome for owners and stakeholders.”
