Polarcus lined up for Morocco shoot for Repsol

Published

Norwegian seismic firm Polarcus has received a letter of intent from Spanish oil major Repsol for a broadband 3D survey offshore Morocco, to start Q3 this year.

Repsol has exploration rights over two exploration blocks in Morocco, one offshore in the Gharb basin.

Following recent discoveries in analogous geology further south along the northwest African Margin, such as in Mauritania and most recently in Senegal, by Cairn, several majors such as BP, Chevron, Repsol and Genel have acquired Morocco deepwater acreage with drilling commitments.
