Key activities for the Ivar Aasen project are progressing according to plan and budget with first oil scheduled for Q4 2016, Det Norske said this morning.
Topside construction at SMOE's yard in Singapore is now 98% complete, with sail-away from Singapore scheduled for the first week of June.
The installation of the topside in the North Sea is planned to take place in July 2016. Construction of the living quarters at Stord in Norway is also 98% complete, and scheduled sail-away from Stord is July 2016.
The project's steel jacket was installed in summer last year, followed by the start of production well pre-drilling.
The Ivar Aasen field is on the Utsira High in the North Sea, west of the Johan Sverdrup field. It contains about 204 MMboe and is expected to reach peak production of approximately 75,000 boe/d.
Det norske’s drilling program on the field began in January 2015 using the Maersk Interceptor jackup, after gaining the Petroleum Safety Authority of Norway’s consent in December 2014. The program will last three years and is comprised of 15 wells: eight production wells and seven water injection wells, in addition to three pilot wells.
The Ivar Aasen development comprises resources in five fields: PL 001B, 028B, 242, 338 and 547; and three deposits: Ivar Aasen, West Cable and Hanz.
