China National Offshore Oil Corp. (CNOOC) has started production at its Panyu 11-5 field in the South China Sea.
Panyu is loctated in the Pearl River Mouth basin in 110m water depth.
While there is currently one well producing approximately 3270 b/d, Panyu 11-5 is expected to reach its peak production of 3900 b/d later this year. In addition to fully utilizing the existing facilities, three wells were also drilled in the field, according to CNOOC.
In February, CNOOC began production at the Weizhou 12-2 oilfield joint development project and Weizhou 11-4 North oilfield Phase II project also in the South China Sea.
CNOOC is the operator of Panyu 11-5 with 100% interest.
