Geolog, Quad start partnership

Geolog International and Quad Operations, also known as QO Inc. (Quad), have entered into a strategic partnership alliance to leverage each other’s respective capabilities in providing a broader spectrum of services to their client base.

Geolog, an independent oil field services company, provides advanced surface logging services used by major oil and gas companies to (i) minimize the NPT and costs of drilling wells; (ii) monitor and improve safety at rig sites; and (iii) help the interpretation of reservoirs by providing rock and fluid integrated characterization.

“Geolog provides integrated rock and fluid characterization at wellsite enabling fast and detailed reservoir interpretation, to optimize well completion and future production” said Richard Calleri, vice president of Geolog. “We therefore invest heavily in our staff to develop them and this alliance will further enhance their specialist skills needed to ensure the quality of data acquired and our ability to analyze and interpret that data. This alliance with Quad, with its proven pore pressure analysis, wellbore stability monitoring, geosteering, drilling monitoring, and wellsite geological advisory, will allow us to increase our interaction with our clients well delivery teams in the project planning, execution and post well review stages and offer a more thorough de-risking process for both their drilling and exploration teams.”

“One thing that is universally apparent is the importance of data quality and the long-term impact it has on every operational decision that gets made, both by our personnel and our clients,” said Shaun Coogan, managing director of Quad. “Good technology, combined with continuity and accountability among the talented people working on our projects are the key elements to success in this endeavor.  By partnering with Geolog, the global independent provider of surface logging data, [Quad] recognizes the opportunity to take advantage of our respective unique capabilities to deliver a step change in both quality and data integrity. If we are successful, the added value it will bring to our clients in the overall process of drilling, hazard mitigation and the successful delivery of exploration and development projects will be both significant and demonstrable.”
