Tullow Oil is set to start up production at its Jubilee field offshore Ghana later this week, after declaring force majeure on two cargoes last month.

In a statement from the company, Tullow said production is expected to start around 9 April, and that planned maintenance that began on 20 March and expected to last two weeks, will now be extended to 5 April.
“Oil production and gas export from the Jubilee field is now expected to restart around April 9 to allow for final preparation of new off-take arrangements which involve the use of a dynamically-positioned shuttle tanker and a storage tanker," Tullow Oil said.
Tullow experienced issues with a turret bearing on the Kwame Nkrumah floating storage and offloading (FPSO) vessel in March, resulting in the deferment of two liftings totaling more than 1.6 MMbbl.
The company first experienced issues with the bearing in mid-February, ahead of planned maintenance on the FPSO that was set to start 20 March.
According to Tullow, its full 2016 production levels will be unaffected with negligible impact on short-term Jubilee production.
The Jubilee field was discovered in 2007, with production starting in 2010.
Tullow is the operator of the field with 35.48% interest. Partners include Kosmos (24.08%), Anadarko (24.08%), GNPC (13.64%) and Petro SA with (2.73%).
