Renaissance hires Blake rig

The Blake Rig 1007 has recently been committed to Renaissance Offshore to drill the A-2 well at the South Timbalier 317 A platform in the Gulf of Mexico. Renaissance plans to mobilize the Blake Rig 1007 around mid-August following Anadarko’s current operations with the platform rig. The contract term is for this one well and Renaissance Offshore retains the right to an option well(s).

The rig was  built in 2011 with a water drilling depth rating of 17,950ft and handles 4.5in drill pipe. The equipment includes two 1000hp triplex pump units, 1000hp drawworks, three  Cummins KT38 power units with 825kW and living quarters for 40 workers. Blake International Rigs owns and operates a fleet of 10 platform rigs in the US and Mexico.
