OneSubsea has won a front-end engineering and design (FEED) contract on the Browse FLNG development offshore Australia.
Browse FLNG development concept is based on three FLNG facilities utilizing Shell’s FLNG technology and Woodside’s expertise to commercialize the Brecknock, Calliance and Torosa fields, 425km offshore north of Broomer, western Australia.
Earlier this week, operator Woodside Petroleum announced it will press forward into the FEED phase for the mega-project using Shell's Prelude FLNG concept. Technip Samsung Consortium was then awarded FEED contracts for the three FLNG units planned for the project.
The fields, in water 300-700m water depth, are thought to contain gross (100%) contingent resources (2C) of 15.4 Tcf of dry gas and 453 MMbbl of condensate. The Torosa field, the first of the fields discovered, was found in 1971. Brecknock followed in 1979, and Calliance came later in 2000.
Under its contract with Woodside, a team from OneSubsea, operating out of OneSubsea's Perth city office, will work with Woodside to fully define and determine the optimal subsea production system design and equipment requirements for the Browse FLNG Development over the next 12-18 months as Woodside prepares for a final investment decision (FID).
In 2014, OneSubsea has signed a five-year frame agreement with Woodside to supply subsea equipment and services for developments offshore Australia. In 2013, OneSubsea opened a state-of-the-art life-of-field facility in Kewdale, Western Australia, built to support Woodside and other operators in the region.

Woodside is targeting a FID on the proposed development in 2H 2016.
Meanwhile, Applus+ RTD, a provider of integrity technology services, has been awarded a two-year frame agreement with Woodside.
The agreement is for a term of two years (with options covering a further two) and will see Applus+ RTD supply inspection and integrity management services across Woodside´s operated onshore and fixed offshore assets.
