Wintershall approved for North Sea well

The Norwegian Petroleum Directorate granted Wintershall Norge a drilling permit for exploration well 10/4-1 in the North Sea.

10/4-1 is located in production license 734, in the southeastern part of the North Sea and consists of the eastern part of block 10/4. Well 10/4-1 is the first exploration well in this production license.

The well will be drilled from the Borgland Dolphin drilling facility.

The drilling program for well 10/4-1 relates to the drilling of a wildcat well in production license 734.

Wintershall Norge is the operator with a 40% interest. Other licensees are Centrica Resources (Norge) AS and Lundin Norway AS with 30% each. Production license 734 was awarded in APA 2013.

The permit is contingent upon the operator securing all other consents and permits required by other authorities prior to commencing the drilling activity.
