Neptune secures two contracts

Ashtead Technology and Seatronics, providers of subsea equipment rental, sales and services, secured deals with Neptune Oceanographics, adding Neptune’s subsea pipeline leak detection systems and sensors including long range fluorescence and passive acoustics to their rental fleet.

“As part of the need to ensure pipeline integrity, periodic inspections deploying leak detection systems alongside other tools are required to identify and prevent problems. Neptune’s leak detection systems are therefore a welcome addition to our rental fleet,” said Tim Sheehan, commercial director at Ashtead.

The deal with Neptune comes as Ashtead ramps up its efforts to add technology and services. Ashtead has offices in the UK, Houston and Singapore, with agents in Abu Dhabi, Perth (Australia) and Stavanger.

Following the acquisition of a substantial shareholding in Neptune by Innova, a comprehensive research and development program was launched for further development of leak detection technology. Ashtead, which already has an established partnership with Innova will support market expansion of global subsea pipeline leak detection services whilst providing valuable access to the market and further strengthening its global links.

Seatronics, an Acteon company, now has access to Neptune’s range of leak detection systems globally. The Neptune leak detection systems will complement Seatronics’ current offerings for the marine technology rental industry.

“With the addition of the Neptune range of leak detection systems to our portfolio we can focus on delivering everything on the ROV,” said Phil Middleton, group managing director for Seatronics.
