Petrofac completed a project for Nexen Petroleum UK Golden Eagle Development Area, delivered through its Plant Asset Management consulting business that involved the development and implementation of a maintenance program for the Golden Eagle installation, located 70km northeast of Aberdeen in the UK North Sea. The launch of the maintenance-build work in Nexen’s SAP system follows two and a half years of work with the company.

Plant Asset Management has been involved in the project from an early stage, working closely with Nexen to develop the maintenance program in readiness for first oil.

“We are proud to have forged a good working relationship with Nexen over many years,” says Steve Johnson, Plant Asset Management VP. “Our team of consultants is looking forward to providing ongoing support for Nexen’s North Sea assets as they progress through the asset lifecycle and Golden Eagle moves through operational phase and beyond.”

Plant Asset Management has also secured a number of projects with Nexen’s Buzzard and Scott assets to assist in the optimization of maintenance and critical spares identification.

The Golden Eagle began first oil in November 2014.
