Rossukon-3ST is located in the G6/48 license that covers 566sq km over the Karawake basin.

The company says the exploration well will be drilled from the Rossukon-3 surface location and is planned to reach a total depth at 6689ft with a maximum deviation of 74 degrees. Water depth at the Rossukon-3 well location is 208 feet.

Rossukon-3ST is the fourth well in the campaign and follows the successful results for the Rossukon-2, Rossukon-2ST, and most recently the Rossukon-3.

Earlier this week, KrisEnergy hit at its Rossukon-3 exploration well, encountering 124ft of net oil and gas pay. The well was drilled to 7497ft total depth using the Key Gibraltar jackup. KrisEnergy says the preliminary interpretation of well logs indicate that the well intersected approximately 75ft true vertical depth (TVD) of net oil-bearing sandstones and 49ft TVD of net gas-bearing sandstones over several reservoir intervals. The well has been plugged.

The company began its Thai campaign in mid-March with the Rossukon-2 exploration well that produced an oil and gas discovery the following week. Preliminary logs indicated that the well intersected approximately 69ft TVD of net oil bearing sandstones and 37ft TVD of net gas-bearing sandstones, over five reservoir intervals.

The Key Gibraltar is under a contract for a firm six months for the Thai program, which includes the latest Rossukon series of wells in G6/48 and 15 development wells in the Wassana oil field.

KrisEnergy took over operatorship of G6/48 in May 2014 and holds 30% interest with partners Northern Gulf Petroleum (40%) and Mubadala Petroleum (30%).
