Ocean Installer opens Brazil office

Norwegian subsea contractor Ocean Installer has opened an office in Brazil stating that the country represents significant growth opportunities in the years ahead.

“We have seen the need to establish an office to serve the Brazilian oil and gas market. Brazil is a very interesting region and the ‘pre-salt’ reservoirs hold exciting opportunities for us,” says Ocean Installer CEO Steinar Riise.

Ocean Installer has experienced significant international growth during the last year. The office in Brazil will initially target projects for the local subsea support market.

The company has seen an increasing demand of targeted vessels in the region and the short time frames in which accurate engineering solutions is demanded.

“We have already introduced our high capability vessel Normand Clipper to the region working for Saipem”, says Riise.

Ocean Installer has recently hired Marcelo Mendonca to lead the office in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
