Lufeng14-4 is located in Lufeng Sag in the Pearl River Mouth basin offshore China in a water depth of about 145m.
Discovery well Lufeng14-4-1 was drilled to 4098m, where oil pay zones with a total thickness of approximately 150m were found. CNOOC says the oil production of the well tested around 1320b/d.
Last month, CNOOC began production at its Enping 24-2 oilfield, also in the Pearl River Mouth basin. Enping is expected to reach 40,000b/d at peak production in 2017. The main production facilities include one drilling and production platform, one floating production storage and offloading unit and 17 producing wells. Currently, there are two wells producing approximately 8000b/d.
Also in October, CNNOC announced a mid-to-large discovery at the Jinzhou 23-2 in Bohai, offshore China. The well Jinzhou 23-2-3 was drilled and completed at a depth of 1097m and encountered oil and gas pay zones with a total thickness of 68.4m. The oil production of the well was tested around 260bbl/d.
