WGPSN secures Hibernia extension

Engineering services firm Wood Group PSN (WGPSN) has been awarded a multi-million dollar contract extension for services on the Hibernia platform, offshore Newfoundland and Labrador.

WGPSN is providing engineering, procurement and construction on Hibernia, a 224m-high platform sitting on a gravity base operated by a consortium led by ExxonMobil. Hibernia started production in 1997 and was the first producing field off Canada's East Coast.

WGPSN's contract is a five-year extension from Hibernia Management and Development Company.

Since first oil, WGPSN has been the incumbent contractor for these services.

Tim O'Leary, president, Wood Group PSN Canada said: "The extension of our contract to provide services for the Hibernia platform is evidence of the continued high level of service we have demonstrated and of the confidence this key client has in our team."
