Stone Energy contracts Ensco rig for GOM work

Stone Energy Corp. contracted the ENSCO 8503 dynamically-positioned deepwater drilling rig for Stone Energy's multi-year drilling program in the Gulf of Mexico.

The 30-month contract will commence during 2Q 2015 at a rate of approximately US$350,000/d.

The contract permits Stone Energy to extend the term up to an additional 12 months, and gives the company the right to reduce the contract by up to six months.

The ENSCO 8503 deepwater drilling rig, which will be modified to include mooring capabilities prior to the commencement of the contract, can reach a maximum drill depth of 35,000ft in 8500ft water depth.
