Combining resources and industry experience, the partnership will offer clients a competitive, design-to-installation solution for a range of projects.

Headquartered in Houston, Texas, Ranger Offshore provides marine and subsea construction support services including vessel and diver hire; inspection, repair and maintenance (IRM) solutions; and pipeline and offshore construction. FoundOcean will bring its 50 years of grouting experience to the partnership.

In April 2014, FoundOcean secured two contracts with Heerema Marine Contractors and Bibby Offshore on the Solan oil field development west of the Shetland in the North Sea. The contracts cover structural grouting on the 8000-tonne Solan platform jacket and its 300,000bbl subsea storage facility.

Located in 135m water depth, Solan is in Block 205/26a of the UK North Sea and is expected to produce 40MMbo at an initial rate of 24,000bbl/d once brought online. Solan will be produced via a non-permanently manned platform, with produced oil stored over ballast water in a steel subsea tank, being built by Dubai's Drydocks World, before being exported via an oil-offloading system to shuttle tankers.

In September 2013, FoundOcean opened an office in Houston to support its expansion overseas.

FoundOcean has completed more than 100 offshore projects in US and Canadian waters for installation contractors including McDermott, CalDive, Heerema, Saipem, Subsea7, and Technip. These range from compliant tower foundation grouting, to deepwater fabric formwork deployments for pipeline repair installations.
