Wireline Engineering initially invested approximately US$245,000 in a new service base in Kuala Lumpur, and significantly increased its personnel in the region.
Jimmy Chong will manage the new 1600sq ft storage and maintenance facility. Chong has much experience in wireline field operations and well intervention equipment and services. He joined the team as service manager in Kuala Lumpur.
Wireline Engineering says Southeast Asia is seen as a key development opportunity for the company and is currently seeing significant regional growth.
“Having our own facility will also allow us to introduce and support new technologies that we have previously been unable to offer in Malaysia, says Bill Petrie, Wireline Engineering chairman. “That is good for us and good for our customers across the region.”
Wireline Engineering has been increasing their Malaysia-based sales team and has five staff located in Kuala Lumpur. For the first time, the company has a Miri-based sales manager to provide closer support to their customers in East Malaysia.
The company’s headquarters are located in Aberdeen, with international offices in the US, Middle East, and the Far East.
