Sevan inked for Bream field

Sevan Marine is to provide front end engineering and design for the hull and marine systems of a Sevan type cylindrical floating production (FPSO) facility for Premier Oil's Bream field in the Norwegian sector of the North Sea.

Bream, an oil field, was discovered in the 1970s about 50km northwest of the Yme field.

The Bream development concept is planned to be an FPSO with subsea production and water injection wells. The nearby Mackerel development will be a 17km subsea tie-back to the Bream facilities.

An exploration well on the adjacent Herring prospect is planned during the development phase and, if successful, would contribute additional resources to the overall project.

Premier, which holds 50% in Bream, currently estimates that the Bream and Mackerel fields contain around 50MMboe of 2C resources, with some further upside in the low risk Herring prospect through a potential third party tie-back.

A formal concept select decision was due to be taken in Q1 2014 and an investment decision was planned for late 2014, or early 2015.

Sevan Marine CEO Carl Lieungh said: "We are both proud and pleased to receive this FEED contract, demonstrating Premier Oil's continued confidence in our technology."
