Statoil discusses importance of ONS

Statoil’s executive VP of development and production discusses the importance of ONS 2014 and Statoil’s presence and projects.

At ONS, Statoil called on the industry to develop a Lego-approach to bring standard parts together as building blocks for projects. Less than a week later, the company announced plans to work with DNV GL to introduce an international industry standard for subsea process technology.

Statoil is currently one of the most active operators on the UK Continental Shelf and the Norwegian Continental Shelf.  Their major projects consist of: the Aasta Hansteen project, one of the most complex industrial projects in Europe; Polarled pipeline, which will become Norway’s deepest offshore gas pipeline; and the Johan Sverdrup, one of Norway’s largest offshore oil and gas fields.
