Petrofac gets Shah Deniz contract

Petrofac secured a contract worth approximately US$8.4 million with the BP-operated Shah Deniz 2 project to provide their maintenance build capabilities.

The contract covers new onshore, offshore and pipeline assets in the Azerbaijan sector of the Caspian Sea, one of the largest gas developments in the world.

Petrofac’s Plant Asset Management, will be responsible for the delivery of this work that is due for completion in 2018.

The project will see Shah Deniz 2 add an additional 16 billion cu. m per annum of gas production to the current 9 billion cu. m produced by Shah Deniz Stage 1, through the opening of a new Southern Gas Corridor to Europe.
