Seatronics partners with Digital Edge Subsea for video inspection

Seatronics, an Acteon company, has signed a worldwide contract with Digital Edge Subsea Ltd. for Digital Edge Subsea’s complete range of digital video inspection systems.

Seatronics will be equipped with Digital Edge Subsea systems for each of its global bases and they will be available for both rental and sales. Seatronics, in partnership with Digital Edge Subsea, will offer training locally at each of the six worldwide locations, alongside local service and first level support.

John Benson, director, Digital Edge Subsea, said, “Seatronics was chosen because over the past two years, their team has been very enthusiastic about our product, and I have no doubt that the partnership will mutually enhance sales, rentals and support worldwide.”

The company’s EdgeDVR range allows both HD (high definition) and SD (standard definition) video recording, with full multichannel overlay built-in. Event hot keys allow data to be input quickly and simply into the automatically generated dive, photo, video and anomaly excel logs. Video can also be constantly recorded, utilising a built-in black box feature.

Each system is remotely accessible via the internet, allowing Digital Edge Subsea to provide technical support and assistance rapidly and simply.

Phil Middleton, deputy managing director, Seatronics, said, “This new contract will contribute significantly to growth in our customer service capability globally. By offering Digital Edge Subsea’s digital video inspection systems, we are enabling our customers to control their operations in a more flexible and timely manner.”

Seatronics has offices in Aberdeen, Abu Dhabi, Germany, Houston, Macae, New Iberia (Louisiana), Norway, Perth, Peterhead, and Singapore.

Digital Edge Subsea is based in Ulverston, Cumbria, UK.
