Lampung receives first LNG cargo

The Hoegh LNG-owned Perusahaan Gas Negara (PGN) floating storage and regasification unit (FSRU) Lampung received its first cargo of LNG through ship-to-ship transfer on 27 July offshore Indonesia.

It entered its final commissioning phase as part of its 20-year contract with Perusahaan Gas Negara (PGN).

The Lampung project was deemed mechanically complete and began commercial operations for PGN.

"This is the largest and most complex FSRU project Höegh LNG has undertaken so far,” says Sveinung J.S. Støhle, Höegh president and CEO. “With the second and third FSRU scheduled to commence commercial operation later this year and the fourth FSRU being delivered in the first quarter next year, the company is in the process of preparing for further expansion within the FSRU segment, thus demonstrating our commitment to keep growing the company within the FSRU market."

The vessel was received on 17 April 2014 and has a storage capacity of 170,000 cu. m.
