Technip bags Edradour contract

Total E&P UK has picked Technip to perform work on the West of Shetland Edradour subsea development. 

The development will form part of a new West of Shetland hub, taking in the Laggan-Tormore, Edradour, and Glenlivit fields, all produced through the Laggan-Tormore infrastructure and export system. 

Edradour is in UK North Sea Block 206/4a, in about 300m water depth, 75km northwest of the Shetlands. Read more: New West of Shetland hub emerging

Technip’s work scope covers: 

  • fabrication and installation of 12in. production pipelines, 6 Mono-ethylene glycol pipeline complete with 2in. piggy backed service line,
  • supply and installation of steel tube umbilical,
  • fabrication and installation of pipeline end manifold, flowline end termination, flexible tails and rigid well tie-in spools, as well as the installation of templates and manifolds provided by the client,
  • rock dumping and pre-commissioning.

Technip’s operating centre in Oslo, Norway, will execute the project, while vessels from the group fleet will perform the installation in the summer seasons of 2016 and 2017. 

The pipelines will be fabricated at Technip’s spoolbase at Evanton, UK, and installed by the Deep Energy. Umbilicals will be manufactured at the group’s new facility in Newcastle, UK. Read more: New DUCO umbilicals facility in Newcastle
