Later, Laloë was appointed Senior VP for Strategy and M&A at Stolt Offshore, which became Acergy and merged with Subsea 7 in 2011. He is a graduate engineer in aeronautical and space engineering, and has lived and worked in France, the USA, the UK, and in Brazil.

Ceona Chief Executive Officer, Steve Preston, comments: "We are extremely pleased to have Jean-Luc join our advisory committee. His wealth of experience from the offshore engineering and construction industry will be an asset to Ceona as our global operations expand in 2014 and beyond, and we look forward to drawing on his expertise."
