OneSubsea selects Airborne risers

Netherlands-based Airborne Oil & Gas has secured an order for multiple flexible risers and jumpers from OneSubsea.

Applying the Thermoplastic Composite Pipe (TCP) concept, the flexible risers and jumpers will be used for acid stimulation, injecting stimulation fluids into subsea wells.

The smooth bore TCP concept is unique in that it combines high pressure rating with high flow, collapse resistance and flexibility.

Martin van Onna, AOG's chief commercial officer, says: "This significant order marks the first supply of composite pipes to OneSubsea. It shows that the industry is serious about enhanced oil recovery and is finding new ways to accomplish this. AOG's spoolable lightweight TCP enables offshore well intervention using small vessels, reducing the cost of intervention campaigns significantly."

The risers and jumpers are 2.5in. internal diameter and rated to 10,000 psi working pressure, and have an operational collapse rating allowing use in 2000m water depth.
